Most authors think they have a writing problem. They don’t.
They have a conversion problem.
Your book can be well-written, well-edited, even beautifully designed—and still not sell.
Why? Because readers never get past the decision point. That’s where AI can quietly change everything.
Here’s what I mean.
I took one of my own blurbs recently and ran it through a simple AI prompt. Not to rewrite the whole thing. Just to sharpen it. The result? Stronger hook. Clearer stakes. Better flow. Same book. Different response.
The truth most authors miss: You don’t need better books to sell more.
You need:
- a sharper blurb
- better keywords
- clearer positioning
And those are exactly the things AI is good at.
Try this
Paste your book description into your favorite AI program. If you don’t have one, most have a free trial. Ask the AI to: “Rewrite this to increase conversions. Make it more emotionally engaging, with a stronger hook and a compelling reason to buy.”
Don’t overthink it. Just compare. You’ll see the difference.
But don’t stop there. Many authors try one prompt, get a decent result, and move on. The authors who actually sell more try several prompts. Write. Prompt. Edit. Prompt. Until you get the most polished results.
Come up with prompts for:
- blurbs
- ads
- keywords
- social posts
- back matter
Then repeat what works.
That’s exactly why I’m putting together Prompt Like a Pro: 101 Prompts for Fiction and Non-Fiction Authors It will be available June 16. But if you need help now, my book AI for Authors: An Almost Up-to-Date Guide is already available.
It’s not theory. It’s the prompts I actually use to:
- write faster
- market smarter
- and sell more books
Quick win for today:
Fix your blurb. Just that one thing.
You may be closer than you think.
